Iron Frontier asks you to balance building, gathering, and defending, all at the same time, and it does a good job of never letting you relax completely. Every choice about where to spend resources feels like it costs you something elsewhere.
The tactical layer is the best part. Positioning your units before a wave hits is a proper puzzle, and the game gives you enough tools to experiment without overwhelming you. We lost a few maps badly before things clicked.
It's not a casual tap-fest — it wants your attention. But if you like squeezing efficiency out of a tight economy, it's genuinely absorbing.
